I've created my perfect sock pattern
I started a new sock two days ago. Toe up with an afterthought heel, in ModaDea self stripping yarn. And i'm already done with one, and about 1/3 of the way in with the second.
I used 3 US2 dpns's for the toe, because thats whatwears out fastest on my socks. So i wanted it to be a bit firmer.
I cast on using the figure 8 method, and stopped the increases once i got to 25 sts on ea needles, 50 total. since thats what fit my foot.
Divided the sts btwn three US3 dpn's, knitting around until it came up to my heel, knit half a row (25 sts) with a SMOOTH waste yarn, then kept on knitting around with the regular yarn until it was the length i wanted, did a 5 row k3, p2 rib and cast off purlwise.
Then worked the afterthought heel, tucked in all the loose ends, and flipped it inside out because i liked the purl side better than the knit. It looks great, fits perfectly, and was a BREEZE to knit. I see lots of these kinds of socks in my future... I'm going to get some more of the Blue/Grey/Tan colorway and make some for my dad. :D
